Saffron Summerfield is a singer/composer and audio-visual artist. She plays guitar,cuatro, bouzouki and harmonium.

For many years Saffron worked as a successful and highly regarded singer/songwriter,touring the folk and world music circuit in UK, Europe. USA, New Zealand & Hong Kong.

Her songs and music have been used on  BBC Radio & Television, Channel Four films, Anglia Television and she has appeared on many live radio broadcasts.

Today her work involves 'found sound' and film with her own music blended with natural sounds, bird song and voices.Her key interests are people,nature and place.

In May 2007, Soundbench was launched. It is a unique, solar energy powered, interactive sound Installation at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Rye,East Sussex. This work is based around a year long residency and features found sounds,birdsong,music and local peoples' stories and recollections.
